5 Dvds & Blu-Rays I want For Xmas
Had to put my DVDs & Blu-Rays wish-list out there for the upcoming holiday. Interesting mix of stuff…
- Rossellini’s War Trilogy - I’m on a Neo-Realism bender as of late and this would be tight.
- West Wing Complete Series Box Thingy - Love Politics. Love Aaron Sorkin. Love Toby. Love the West Wing.
- Super 8 (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) - I liked this movie. I know people were bashing it for being “typical” but it was a good popcorn flick. A successful movie with so many kid actors is a rarity.
- Star Wars (The Original Trilogy - On Blu-ray) - I just want the original, good old fashioned, Luke Skywalker slaying, Han Solo kicking-asses Star Wars. Screw Santa, I’ll take Darth.
- Modern Times - Haven’t seen it since I was a kid and I love Chaplin. That’d be a special one…
Honorable Mention - Since it is Christmas, I’ll give an honorable mention to a holiday flick… The Shop Around The Corner. Two people who can’t stand each other are actually pen-pals (You’ve Got Mail, anyone?) and it builds up to the big reveal, on the nights of all nights to fall in love, Christmas Eve. That’d be a catch.
